Cat Diaries #3

After much palaver, I have adopted a different cat than the one I was previously applying for. She came home with me today. Meet Kissy!

Cat Diaries #2

Two weeks ago today, I got my first phone call about my new cat. I still haven’t met her, and neither do we have a date for that. There’s been numerous problems with the paperwork, but hopefully once one last thing has been sorted we can move on to meeting and rehoming!

In the meantime I have been doing lots of research and making sure everything is set up and that I have everything she’s going to need. I’m just waiting on her name tag and permission to go ahead with installing a cat flap. Plus some more crinkle toys. 🙂

Cat Diaries #1

Just over a week ago I decided to adopt a cat.

I filled out the Homefinder form for the Blue Cross on the cat I liked, and waited. The next day I had a phone call to arrange to meet her! I was excited and nervous, I wasn’t sure if I was going to be good enough for a shelter to let me adopt a cat. I’ve never had a cat before and I have ridiculously low self-esteem.

Since then we’ve had a few phone calls back and forth, discussing things, arranging a meet then cancelling the meet due to the snow… I’m now waiting again to see what’s what.

In the meantime, I have got all the gear. Still waiting on dental care stuff and a collar, and the scratchpost is being delivered today, but everything else is ready to go! I put the radiator bed together yesterday and figured the water fountain out. (How complicated do they have to make radiator beds?!).

Now, it’s just me, some cat forums, Cats for Dummies and 50 Games to Play With Your Cat.
