Where I found you is about a teenager who, after an emotional battle, travels abroad to volunteer in Indonesia. The writing was beautiful and the settings were so rich and vivid; they really came alive. I loved all the characters. They were so well written and so richly developed. Another thing I loved about this book was how much I learned. I was truly educated through reading this, in a beautiful way. My eyes were opened. I can’t recommend this enough, and if you are stuck at home through the summer season, this book is perfect for armchair travelling. It will transport you. 5/5.
Where the Sea Takes Me is a rich, vivid novel set in Cambodia. It is beautifully written in a way that sucks you right into the story, the characters, the setting, and swallows you up.
The story revolves around Sienna and Deni, who are volunteering in Cambodia. They are well-developed characters, as are all the side characters around them. The romance will have you really rooting for them, and it doesn’t follow any of the tropes so common in YA. It’s different and refreshing, and it has a great plot around the romance.
This will open your mind and transport you away to a beautiful land of temples and junk boat river cruises. 5/5
