I received this, with thanks, via Netgalley, in exchange for an honest review.
I have to say the title does not do this book justice. It is an exceptional fantasy tale.
I loved the character development at the start. I loved getting to know the family. It felt deeper and richer than most graphic novels. It reminded me of how movies start!
The artwork is out of this world. It’s in vivid colours and the illustrations are detailed and beautiful. It reminds me of the movie Avatar, not as a copy, but as on a par with the brightness and the beauty of the world.
I felt like there should have been more to the volume than there was, as it didn’t feel properly ended. I know it’s the first in a series, but it needed a bit more rounding off for me, or the next episode being added to it.
A new favourite of mine, that I will collect, reread and treasure.
