This is so hard to answer. I was always a bookworm, even as a young child. I was signed up to the library at the age of two. I never needed pushing to read, and I flew through group reads at school. Some of my early favourites were Enid Blyton, Harry Potter, Roald Dahl, Dick King Smith, Jacqueline Wilson and the Angel Academy books.
My favourite classic is 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne, but that’s mainly because of the undersea settings and the amount of marine biology in it. A more classic-y classic would be Great Expectations by Charles Dickens.
Hmm, nothing springs to mind immediately. I nearly didn’t read The Cruel Prince because it was so over-hyped, but I am so glad I did. The writing is gorgeous and amazing!
Nyxia. It has traces of The Hunger Games, but it’s not whacking you over the head with it, and it is vastly different from The Hunger Games. It’s also really, really good.
The Inkheart trilogy looks huge. I know it’s only three books, but they look chunky. I’m also putting off Queen of Shadows and the Court of Thorns and Roses series. I put my complete works of Jane Austen off for ages, but I am 20% into Northanger Abbey now.
Despite it being a middle grade, A Dark Inheritance by Chris d’Lacey really freaked me out.
Meaning characters? Or meaning two books I wish were combined? For characters, I’d have to say Celaena and Chaol. I also ship Luna/Neville, Harry/Hermione, and Harry/Ginny.
For two books mashed up, the Nicholas Flamel books mashed up with The Hunger Games.
Nyxia again. You will be up all night. You will.
The Cruel Prince really took me by surprise.
A Court of Thorns and Roses. And The Raven Boys.
Some obscure Tolkien academia.
Rosemarked. I read a sampler and now the book is out I really want it.
Pacifica. And Queen of Air and Darkness.
I’m tagging YOU!
